Overview

Through the thick winter’s mist emerges a shape which slowly transforms into the most aesthetically wondrous creation of nature. As the shape takes form and substance, you are left in bewilderment for its beauty and charisma makes you forget everything else. As the tiger fills all your senses with incomparable joy and as adrenaline flows merrily through your body, you know you have just enjoyed the most singular experience of seeing a tiger in Kanha’s enchanting wilds. Your heart is one with Kanha’s, forever.
What to expect?
Probably our favourite park, Kanha is one of India’s oldest national parks and one of the best places to see tigers in the country.
The park takes pride in its impeccable management. A lot of the country’s most ground-breaking conservation projects have originated in Kanha. Among these, the most famous is the successful breeding program of the Hard Ground Barasingha, the park’s flagship species. Almost wiped out at the beginning of the 20th century, efforts of the Forest Department have managed to save this handsome deer from the brink of extinction.
Apart from the majestic Royal Bengal Tiger, you will see many other animals, as Kanha biodiversity is among the best in India. We have an amazing team of guides and drivers in the park who know the area very well and ensure that your experience is unforgettable.

Itinerary

1. Arrive in Raipur - Drive to Kanha - Evening Jungle Safari
(You are requested to reach Raipur anytime till 9 am. The convenient timings will be mailed once we start communication regarding the tour).
Our favourite team of drivers would receive you at the airport / railway station, serve you hot breakfast but before long we would be on the highway to Kanha. Post check-in, we have lunch and without further ado, step into our wildlife attire and go for the first of our 6 jungle safaris. We come back to the resort for chai – coffee following which we have ice-breakers and introduction. An early dinner would send you into your warm beds.
We spend two more days in the jungle and in process undertake four jungle drives. We shall explore all the famed tiger areas such as the Kanha meadows, the Sonph maidans, the hills of Digdola and Salghat, the ponds near Kisli and the iconic region east of Kisli, the happening Mukki zone with Umarpani, Dhawajhandi and many other legendary tigers. Our drives and guides would give their very best to give you the experience you came to this legendary jungle for.

After one last safari in Kanha, we drive back to Raipur from where we embark on our return journey home. We reach Raipur at around 4 pm.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your questions answers about stays and more

What’s the difference between a group tour and a private tour?
Group tours are fixed date departures to some of our most popular destinations. You can buy a seat for one of those and you will share the jeep with other participants.
A private tour is a totally customized trip that we will craft around your preferences. You can choose the dates, the park and the accommodation category.
It is important to plan your trip well in advance. For the Indian national parks, we recommend a minimum of 4 to 6 months prior to the date. Visiting a national park in India requires the booking of permits. These are issued in a limited number to control the capacity of the park and they get sold out quite fast.
For Africa, we recommend booking at least 6 months in advance during peak season (June to September) and 2-3 months for the rest of the year.
Absolutely. We work with the best hotels and camps in every destination and we are able to include the best luxury properties for your holiday.
We have extensive experience as tour operators, naturalists and wildlife photographers. We (the founders) are on field for months every year and have a deep knowledge of all the destinations and of their sightings opportunities. We work with the best team of guides, drivers and trackers with whom we have established a personal relationship over the years.
Absolutely. We are wildlife photographers ourselves and we know the importance of a great team who understands key factors such as jeep positioning, angle and light. We can offer specially modified jeeps for photography in all destinations. Rest assured that you will go back with photos that tell a memorable story!
Yes, we can also organize your cultural tour in India and in our other destinations. Based on your requirements we will craft a personalized itinerary and we will take care of hotels, transportation, guides and anything you need.
For India, most parks are open from 1 October to 30 June. October and November are the post-monsoon months, and the forest is dense and green. December to the beginning of March is winter, the weather is crisp and the light beautiful. Summer starts from the end of April to June. This is the time when the weather is gets warmer and the number of tiger sightings peak.
For Africa, it all depends on the destination. If you want to see the Great Migration of wildebeests, the season is from June to the end of September. This destination is great during the other months as well, when the crowds are less and you can experience multiple sightings of big cats and other animals.
